To produce knowledge at the national and international level in the field of Agricultural Constructıon and Irrigation and to train qualified engineers to be able to make effective contribution to the solution of the problems in this area.
In addition to the authority of the Regulation on the Duties and Authorities of Agricultural Engineers published in the Decree of the Council of Ministers of 18/12/1991 – 91/2526 in 1991 and in the Official Gazette of 21121 dated 24/01/1992, agricultural buildings and irrigation agricultural engineers who have studied in the field, irrigation facilities for irrigation water need up to 500 liters, ponds to provide irrigation water and animal drinking water, drainage, soil erosion preventive soil and water conservation facilities, research, study, plan, project implementation and control services.
The aim of the Agricultural Faculty and Irrigation Bachelor’s Program of the Faculty of Agriculture; in parallel with the technological developments related to the subjects that constitute the field of application, have acquired technical knowledge to serve our country’s agriculture, have a consciousness of continuing engineering education with personal and professional development, respectful to professional and ethical values, think analytically, follow current developments and technology, and respectful people, to train engineers and to produce information for the benefit of the country, society and humanity.
Our students in the Agricultural Construction and Irrigation Undergraduate Program; optimum utilization of water resources, protection and improvement of water resources, as well as the use of water in agriculture; feasibility, planning, designing, designing and financing of the development projects of soil and water use, land-plant-water relationships, water storage, water transmission and distribution, land reclamation, field group roads, irrigation systems, drainage facilities, land reclamation, land consolidation, practice and control. And also; our students have the opportunity to learn about the environmental conditions and control in agricultural structures, the operation center, housing, dairy and beef cattle stables, sheep farms, poultry houses, greenhouses, mushroom production facilities, hangars, grain stores, feed storage, fruit and vegetable storage, fertilizer management, education about the planning, projecting and construction of wastewater systems. In addition, they are trained as engineer candidates in the areas of rural settlement planning, environmental control, agricultural information systems and the development of agricultural enterprises with modern technology, structural and physical aspects, and mathematical models of engineering problems related to agricultural and biological systems.
In the department, great emphasis is placed on students to model the theoretical and mathematical expressions of agricultural engineering problems and transfer them to practical engineering applications. Apart from agricultural education and research, the students are trying to have professional education in information technology applications.
